Inci: Rosa Canina Fruit Oil, Tocopherol, Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil

Contains naturally occurring Retinoic Acid (Vitamin A) which is excellent for skin care.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

A clear, yellow oil with a faint smell that is pressed from the fruit / hips of the wild rose bush.

This is 99.5% Rosehip Fruit Oil and we have added 0.35% Vitamin E as a powerful antioxidant to keep the oil from oxidising. That Vitamin E is suspended in 0.15% Sunflower Seed Oil to make it pourable. Without this added antioxidant, the oil would have a shelf life of only a few months before it goes rancid. We add the antioxidant to ensure the quality and therapeutic action for longer. It is best to store this oil in the fridge.

The oil can be naturally quite strong smelling. This oil has been deodorised using a process that has been approved by The Soil Association which involves a shot of steam whilst the oil is in a vacuum. It is then passed through activated charcoal. This effectively reduces the aroma of the oil and improves the colour without affecting the therapeutic qualities of the oil and still keeping it’s organic status.
  • Use 1% to 100%. Although safe to use neat on the skin, the high level of Omega 3 can make the oil feel tight on the skin. We feel the oil is much more elegant when blended with other oils.
  • Oil soluble so cannot be used in water only products. It can be used in small amounts in water based gels that will hold it in suspension.
  • Not heat stable so should be used in Stage 3 (cool stage) when making creams and lotions.
Rosehip Seed Oil blends very well with other oils that have a much fattier or greasy feel to them like Shea Butter. The dryness of the Rosehip Seed Oil makes the combination feel very elegant.

For sensitive skin, blend it with Peach Kernel Oil or Apricot Kernel Oil.

HOW TO USE IT

Skin Care
  • Rosehip Seed Oil has a light and non greasy texture that feels quite dry. It sinks into the skin rapidly without leaving any greasy after feel. It is excellent to moisturise dry and damaged skin improving the appearance of the skin.
  • It helps to give a more even skin tone.
  • A great oil to use for acne prone skin as it has such a light texture.
  • Rosehip Seed Oil contains a natural form of Vitamin A which is a powerful antioxidant. Combined with the high Omega 3 content, this oil is superb for helping to smooth the skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles especially on mature skin.
  • As it has a short surface time on the skin, it is excellent for use under makeup.
  • Rosehip Seed Oil helps to even the skin tone to promote an even glow.
  • It has an excellent, balanced ratio of Omega 3, Omega 6 and Omega 9. This makes it ideal to use in oil blends for all skin types and very simple to use in gel formulations where less of an oil can be included therefore using a good, balanced oil is ideal.
  • In anti aging skincare products, Rosehip Seed Oil keeps the skin soft, supple and radiant which can help to diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Hair Care
  • Rosehip Seed Oil tones and corrects an oily scalp. It will also improve the resilience of a sensitive scalp.
  • The hair shaft will be moisturised without feeling greasy or heavy.

New to CBD? Not sure where to start? We've got you covered!

What is CBD?

CBD, short for cannabidiol, is a naturally occurring compound found in the cannabis plant. Unlike THC, another well-known compound found in cannabis, CBD is non-psychoactive, meaning it won't cause the "high" associated with marijuana use.

CBD is extracted from the hemp plant, a variety of cannabis that contains only trace amounts of THC. It is then processed into various forms, including oils, capsules, edibles, and topicals, which can be used for a wide range of purposes.

CBD interacts with the body's endocannabinoid system, which plays a role in regulating a variety of physiological and cognitive processes, such as pain sensation, mood, and sleep. This interaction can potentially lead to a variety of health benefits, including pain relief, reduced inflammation, improved sleep, and reduced anxiety and depression symptoms.

Is CBD legal?

In most places, including the UK, certain CBD products are completely legal to buy and consume. However, please check local legislation before purchasing or consuming any CBD product.

How can CBD help me?

CBD, or cannabidiol, has been shown to potentially provide a wide range of benefits for various conditions. Some of the most commonly reported benefits of CBD include relief from pain and inflammation, reduction in anxiety and depression symptoms, improvement in sleep quality, and management of epilepsy and seizure disorders.

Additionally, CBD may have neuroprotective properties, meaning it could potentially benefit those with neurodegenerative conditions like Alzheimer's or Parkinson's disease.

However, it's important to note that more research is needed to fully understand the potential benefits and risks of CBD use.

It's always best to consult with a healthcare professional before starting any new supplement or treatment.

Will your products get me high?

No. All of our products contain less than 0.2% THC as per UK/EU laws - please view our Lab results page for more information.

Our products contain no THC so you will not get high/stoned. Our products do contain CBD, CBG and other legal cannabinoids, but you won't get high or stoned like you would if you smoked regular cannabis.

...however, you can get "high" with the entourage effect.

How much CBD should I take?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a type of cannabinoid, one of many compounds found naturally in cannabis plants. There are many different vehicles for consuming CBD such as oils, tablets, capsules, gummies, chocolates, creams and more. Choosing how to take it might seem like the first step, but it might actually be more useful to determine how much you want to take first...

Everyone is different, this means that everyone’s preferred dosage might be slightly different too. You may need to experiment slightly to find a dosage that works for you but here is some information for you to consider

The Food Standards Agency in the UK recommends the maximum daily CBD dosage of 10mg. This advice should not be applied directly to CBD products that are inhaled or applied dermally, nor does it consider exposure from such product types.

Consumers on regular medications should seek advice from a medical professional before using any type of CBD food product. Consult a health professional before using CBD if pregnant, breastfeeding or taking other medication.

Our edible products are food supplements and should be taken as part of a varied diet and healthy lifestyle.
