What are CBD extracts?

CBD extracts are concentrated forms of cannabidiol (CBD), one of the many beneficial compounds found in hemp plants. These extracts capture the essence of the plant's therapeutic properties, delivering a powerful punch of wellness in every drop. Whether derived through CO2 extraction, ethanol extraction, or the artisan method of rosin pressing, CBD extracts offer a potent and versatile way to enjoy the benefits of CBD.

They come in various forms, including oils, tinctures, and even solid forms like waxes and shatters, making them a favorite among those seeking natural relief and balance. Perfect for adding to your daily routine, CBD extracts are the go-to choice for those who want to experience the full spectrum of CBD's potential.

How to use CBD extracts?

Using CBD extracts is a versatile and enjoyable experience, especially when it comes to vaping or dabbing. These methods offer quick absorption and a potent delivery of CBD, making them favorites among enthusiasts.

  • Vaping: To vape CBD extracts, you'll need a vaporizer designed for concentrates. Simply load a small amount of your CBD extract into the chamber, heat it to the desired temperature, and inhale the smooth, flavorful vapor. Vaping is perfect for those looking for a fast-acting method to enjoy the benefits of CBD, as the effects are felt almost immediately.

  • Dabbing: Dabbing involves using a dab rig, which is a specialized pipe designed for concentrates. Heat the nail (the part where you place the extract) with a torch until it's hot, then apply a small amount of CBD extract using a dab tool. Inhale the vapor through the rig's mouthpiece. Dabbing delivers a powerful dose of CBD in a single hit, making it ideal for those who need strong, immediate relief.

Both methods are great for experiencing the full potency and flavor of CBD extracts. Whether you prefer the convenience of vaping or the intensity of dabbing, incorporating CBD extracts into your routine can be a game-changer for your wellness journey.

What are the benefits of CBD extracts?

CBD extracts offer numerous benefits, making them a popular choice for natural wellness. Key advantages include:

  • Pain Relief: Alleviates chronic pain by reducing inflammation
  • Anxiety and Stress Reduction: Promotes calm and relaxation
  • Anti-inflammatory Properties: Beneficial for conditions like arthritis
  • Improved Sleep: Helps regulate sleep patterns, aiding those with insomnia.
  • Neuroprotective Effects: May aid in treating neurological conditions like epilepsy.
  • General Wellness: Supports overall health, balance, and homeostasis.

Incorporating CBD extracts into your routine can enhance your quality of life and provide a natural alternative for managing various health issues.

How are CBD extracts made?

Creating high-quality CBD extracts is both an art and a science. The journey begins with carefully cultivated hemp plants, rich in cannabidiol. The extraction process can vary, but the most popular methods include CO2 extraction, ethanol extraction, and CBD rosin pressing.

  • CO2 Extraction: This method uses supercritical CO2 to pull CBD and other beneficial compounds from the plant material. It's a clean and efficient process, ensuring a pure and potent extract without any harmful residues.

  • Ethanol Extraction: Here, ethanol acts as a solvent to dissolve the desired compounds. After extraction, the solution is heated to evaporate the ethanol, leaving behind a concentrated CBD extract. This method is known for its efficiency and ability to extract a wide range of cannabinoids and terpenes.

  • Rosin Pressing: For those who prefer a solvent-free option, rosin pressing is the way to go. This technique uses heat and pressure to squeeze the resinous sap from the hemp flowers, producing a full-spectrum extract that retains all the plant’s natural compounds.

Each method has its unique benefits, but all aim to produce a high-quality, potent extract that captures the therapeutic potential of CBD. The result is a versatile product that can be used in various ways, from tinctures and oils to edibles and topicals.

Distinction between CBD and THC

Understanding the distinction between CBD and THC is crucial for anyone exploring the world of CBD extracts. CBD (cannabidiol) and THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) are both cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant, but they have significantly different effects. CBD is non-psychoactive, meaning it doesn't produce the "high" associated with cannabis use. Instead, it offers therapeutic benefits such as pain relief, anti-inflammatory properties, and anxiety reduction.

THC, on the other hand, is the psychoactive component responsible for the euphoric sensation. While THC can also provide therapeutic benefits, such as pain relief and appetite stimulation, its mind-altering effects make it distinct from CBD. Both compounds interact with the body's endocannabinoid system but in different ways, making them suitable for various medical and wellness applications.

New to CBD? Not sure where to start? We've got you covered!

What is CBD?

CBD, short for cannabidiol, is a naturally occurring compound found in the cannabis plant. Unlike THC, another well-known compound found in cannabis, CBD is non-psychoactive, meaning it won't cause the "high" associated with marijuana use.

CBD is extracted from the hemp plant, a variety of cannabis that contains only trace amounts of THC. It is then processed into various forms, including oils, capsules, edibles, and topicals, which can be used for a wide range of purposes.

CBD interacts with the body's endocannabinoid system, which plays a role in regulating a variety of physiological and cognitive processes, such as pain sensation, mood, and sleep. This interaction can potentially lead to a variety of health benefits, including pain relief, reduced inflammation, improved sleep, and reduced anxiety and depression symptoms.

Is CBD legal?

In most places, including the UK, certain CBD products are completely legal to buy and consume. However, please check local legislation before purchasing or consuming any CBD product.

How can CBD help me?

CBD, or cannabidiol, has been shown to potentially provide a wide range of benefits for various conditions. Some of the most commonly reported benefits of CBD include relief from pain and inflammation, reduction in anxiety and depression symptoms, improvement in sleep quality, and management of epilepsy and seizure disorders.

Additionally, CBD may have neuroprotective properties, meaning it could potentially benefit those with neurodegenerative conditions like Alzheimer's or Parkinson's disease.

However, it's important to note that more research is needed to fully understand the potential benefits and risks of CBD use.

It's always best to consult with a healthcare professional before starting any new supplement or treatment.

Will your products get me high?

No. All of our products contain less than 0.2% THC as per UK/EU laws - please view our Lab results page for more information.

Our products contain no THC so you will not get high/stoned. Our products do contain CBD, CBG and other legal cannabinoids, but you won't get high or stoned like you would if you smoked regular cannabis.

...however, you can get "high" with the entourage effect.

How much CBD should I take?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a type of cannabinoid, one of many compounds found naturally in cannabis plants. There are many different vehicles for consuming CBD such as oils, tablets, capsules, gummies, chocolates, creams and more. Choosing how to take it might seem like the first step, but it might actually be more useful to determine how much you want to take first...

Everyone is different, this means that everyone’s preferred dosage might be slightly different too. You may need to experiment slightly to find a dosage that works for you but here is some information for you to consider

The Food Standards Agency in the UK recommends the maximum daily CBD dosage of 10mg. This advice should not be applied directly to CBD products that are inhaled or applied dermally, nor does it consider exposure from such product types.

Consumers on regular medications should seek advice from a medical professional before using any type of CBD food product. Consult a health professional before using CBD if pregnant, breastfeeding or taking other medication.

Our edible products are food supplements and should be taken as part of a varied diet and healthy lifestyle.
